Several inventors outside of Microsoft are using Kinect to develop applications for medical uses. One example is Tedesys, a technology startup in Cantebria, Spain, that is working on an application that will let doctors use the sensor while operating on patients, says Jesus Perez, the company’s chief operating officer.

HP and Microsoft will also share engineering resources to collaborate to deploy, support and enhance the joint solutions. Initial availability is expected this month in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Australia. The most recent cloud pairing is also two years after the two tech big dogs teamed up for a cloud computing stack.
